Over the last few years, I have found myself drawing more and more. I’ve always loved to draw and paint, but I never really set time aside for it. I’ve become increasingly disillusioned with endless stream of reality TV streaming on our television. Don’t get me wrong! I am down for a good housewife throw-down just like the next guy, but I don’t really feel like investing all of my attention in whose feelings were hurt by who in every city across the nation. No Thank You!

So while the abundance of absurdity plays on the television, I listen to whats going on while I doodle. You have to listen for things like tables flipping, glasses breaking, or extensions being ripped out of another cast member’s head. I’ve been able to create a good bit of art this way including my failed attempts at participating in the Inktober Drawing Challenge.

Every year before we even see October in the distant horizon, a list is released. This list, Inktober Drawing Challenge, gives a drawing prompt for every day in October. The last couple of years I have started off strong. Then…Boom! It was holiday season at work, which is EX-HAUST-ING! And the challenge would fall by the wayside. Maybe this year I can finally do all 31 days, fingers crossed.
